Jennifer Sudwal completed her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences at UC Irvine, in 2015. After completing medical school at Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2020 she became a D.O. after which she completed her residency in Family Medicine in 2023 at Mountain Vista Medical Center in Mesa, AZ.
After returning to her home state of California following medical school and residency, she took a one-year hiatus to travel to India, reconnect with her roots and family in Punjab, and experience a big milestone—getting married! That time away gave her a fresh perspective and renewed energy as she begins her career. She’s passionate about providing compassionate, community-centered care, and excited to grow as a clinician.
Dr. Sudwal was drawn to Plumas District Hospital because of its close-knit community feel, the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with patients, and the chance to work in a setting where she can make a tangible difference. She appreciates the collaborative environment and the strong support system for new providers. Plus, the natural beauty of the area is a wonderful bonus!
She is a member of the California chapter of American Academy of Family Physicians.
She is the first in her family to graduate from college, and her passion for medicine was shaped early on by the strong values of service and community she was raised with. Her husband is a proud Army veteran, and together they enjoy spending time outdoors—whether hiking, taking scenic road trips, or simply finding quiet places to unwind and recharge. Her interests also include music, dancing and good food, especially Sushi.
