Please be aware and prepare for this weekend's heatwave. If you are having a medical emergency, call 911. Please refer to the tips below to stay safe.
Stay Hydrated
Drinking plenty of water, particularly before going outdoors, is critical in preventing dehydration and heat-related illnesses. Stock up on hydrating drinks to replenish your electrolytes! (If your diet regulates how much water you drink, ask your provider how you should stay hydrated during heat waves)
Stay Inside
Limit your outdoor activity if you can. If you need ways to cool down while inside, take a cold shower or bath to cool down.
Stay shaded and be prepared when going outside
Be sure to find shade when outdoors and to bring your own! (Hats, EZ ups) Bring plenty of sunscreen and water as well to protect your skin and to stay hydrated. Wear light, light colored, loose fitting clothing.
