Mira Parekh has lived in Northern California their entire life, growing up in the Bay Area and then later moving to the Central Valley. She studied ecology and evolutionary biology at UC Davis and pursued that as a career for several years before ultimately switching to medicine. While she is now a psychiatry resident at Healthy Rural California, and excited to be practicing in a rural community setting, her deep love has always resided in cherishing nature and our human place within it. As her training continues, she hopes to engage and promote traditions of healing that re-center the human experience in the ecology of our living planet. If she’s not dreaming of ways to do this, you will find her on a farm, enjoying a good story or a shared meal, art appreciating, learning about ethnobotany, and otherwise finding ways to tend to the natural world.
