Outpatient Specialist II

The Outpatient Specialist II (OPS II) is able to perform all tasks of the RHC Outpatient Specialist. The OPS II will request records for new patients, upload telemedicine notes into the electronic health record (EHR), coordinate with the Rural Health Clinic Nursing staff to ensure all outside records are available and/or in the EHR prior to the patient visit. Process incoming e-faxes through the Updox system.

Compensation Philosophy:

• We have 6 pay increments on our clinical pay scales to compensate successful candidate for 6 years of relevant experience

Compensation Range:

• $22.28- $28.44 / hour 

Full-Time, Benefited 

Preferred Experience: 

• One to three (1-3) years of customer service.
• One to two (1-2) years’ experience in a healthcare environment.
• Database software applications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Data entry and the ability to type a minimum of 25 words per minute.
• Microsoft Excel/Word and good mathematical, reading and writing skills required.
• Superb customer service, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
• Efficient time management skills and ability to multi-task.
• Strong understanding and comfort level with computer systems

• Review provider schedules on a daily basis checking for any new patients or follow up visits that may require the need for notes from an outside facility.
• Upload telemedicine consultation notes into the EHR.
• Process incoming e-faxes through the Updox system.
• Lead clinic projects assigned
• Oversee training and competency program for front office and outpatient staff
