Plumas District Hospital is seeking a motivated and compassionate Physical Therapy Aide to join our Rehabilitation Services team. This role supports physical therapists and physical therapist assistants in delivering exceptional patient care in an acute care hospital environment, including inpatient and swing bed settings. The aide will assist with patient mobility, treatment area preparation, equipment maintenance, and various clerical and clinical support tasks, helping ensure safe and effective therapy services under the direct supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
Education:
- Basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification.
- The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience in acute care, outpatient, or rehabilitation setting or equivalent setting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a healthcare team
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand/walk frequently, and assist with patient transfers
- Establish priorities and recognize physical or behavioral changes during course of treatment and reporting it to the Therapist.
- Ability to use, inspect, and maintain clinical equipment
- Knowledge of purpose, expected outcome, and safety factors involved in the care provided
- Knowledge of infection control practices
- Knowledge of and use of all office equipment including, but not limited to, office software (i.e.MS Word, Excel, Outlook Express etc).
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and some medical pathology

Child Care:
- PDH is thrilled to provide our Child Care Center services to all families in our area. Our program is operational from 7:45am to 5:15pm, Monday through Friday, and is approved for children aged 0 to 5 years.
