COVID-19 vaccinations are underway at Plumas District Hospital. The hospital’s main campus opened employee vaccination clinics on Monday, immediately after taking delivery of the Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. Over the three-day period before Christmas Eve, the hospital will administer a total of 108 doses. These first doses are allocated to PDH employees who are at the highest risk of exposure to COVID-19.The vaccine is optional for healthcare workers, but most employees have opted-in.
“I am pleased with the large percentage of our staff who have opted to receive the vaccine, said chief executive officer JoDee Read." This is an important step in ensuring that we are available to care for the community when they need us.”
The vaccine is available to the public at this time. For more information about the COVID-19 vaccine in Plumas County, please visit https://www.plumascounty.us/2761/COVID-19---Vaccine
