Mark Satterfield MD
Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Dr. Satterfield developed a love and respect for rural Northern California early on. It was his desire to help fill
the need for rural doctors that inspired him to attend medical school at UC San Francisco followed by a Family Medicine Residency in Ventura. After
moving with his family to Quincy and opening a medical practice in 1989, he joined the PDH Board in 1992. He has since continuously strived to help
PDH excel as a regional beacon of excellence in healthcare.
As an emergency physician he currently enjoys caring for people of all ages and illness severity. As Plumas County Public Health Officer he helps guide the county’s efforts to promote wellness and limit the local impact if infectious diseases and hazards. He believes addressing the current opioid crisis is a high priority.
Dr. Satterfield’s hobbies include music, hiking, and spending time with his family.
