John Evans retired in 2016 after working as a Registered Nurse since 1977 then Family Nurse Practitioner since 1991. Moved to Plumas County from Fresno California in 1991 and initially worked at Indian Valley District Hospital. Subsequent opportunities developed at Plumas Community Clinic, Indian Valley Medical Clinic and Eastern Plumas Health Care. Prior employment in Idaho and Washington included laborer for dryland farms, orchards, crop-dusting and construction. Raised on an Idaho farm and attending colleges in Seattle, Wenatchee and Cheney, Washington then California State University where he received a Master in Nursing. During his years of employment, he was twice nominated for Employee of the Year at EPHC. He worked as an instructor for the American Lung, Tobacco Cessation Program. In addition to employment activities he served 10 years on Board of Director for Mountain Circle Family Services and was routinely active in his local church with various teaching positions for over 15 years. Nominated for Central California Nurses Association Nurse of the Year by Fresno Community Hospital, 1989. Was the first student to win the Claude C. Laval Jr. Award for Innovative Research And Technology at California State University, Fresno, 1989. U.S. Patent received, 1997.
